Marketing you, the Loan Document Signer

As a Notary, Marketing myself as a Loan Document Signer I have made a few observations. These are the two major things I have noticed, the first is competition. There are quite a few less Notaries out in the field in December 2007, then there was at this time last year December2006. The second item is of the ones I see out lookingfor work for themselves: they are overlooking the most important person for getting more work. You may have heard that when trying to Sell yourself you need to get in contact with the key decision maker at a company, you must first get through the front desk or the Front Office staff. The truth is the receptionist or front office staff may be the key decision maker.

As a Mobile Notary in Busy Los Angeles county I am here to tell that your best friend is the Receptionist and Office staff. The Escrow Industry has had major layoffs and reshuffling of staff. I have met quite a few Receptionists who last month were escrow assistants. But rather then just get laid off they have taken A lesser paying job and are willing to work their way back up into the Escrow office. This has changed the Escrow industry tremendously. They do not just answer phones, It is their job to Screen and handle all calls and put through only the ones that they can not handle.

What does this mean for you Marketing you, the Loan Document Signer you ask. It means that trying to see the Office Manager or Escrow officer might not be the correct path to take in trying to market yourself to the Escrow Industry. To prove my point here is what has been happening lately. I have been getting quite a few Loan Signing’s from other Counties and States. I, of course, took the info down and then asked them this question. “May I ask where you got my name and Phone number from.” I was amazed at the answers I received. I called “so and so” Escrow and the receptionist gave me your name. And even a few “My normal Notary is out of the business and the receptionist said you were very polite and knowledgeable.So as you market your Loan signing Notary services both Cold calling and telemarketing the Escrow and Title Escrow offices. Be on your best behavior & be polite To every one in that office.

When you are talking to the office personal about your services via the telephone or in person, remember to leave a positive impression on everyone.There is no telling where your next phone call will be from
